What are we working on?
Provider Recognition Evening. Thursday Evening before Mother's Day
Each spring the Tehama County Local Child Care Planning Council, Tehama County Department of Education, and Child Care Referral and Education host an event designed to applaud the efforts of child care providers in their endeavor to extend quality care to the families of Tehama County. Each year, approximately 100 individuals are recognized for the challenging role they face every day as they strive to provide quality child care to the families they serve. We believe that these providers make a huge difference not only in the lives of the children and families of Tehama County, but to our community as a whole. Funding for this event is provided by First 5 Tehama.
Professional Development and Retention of State Subsidized Staff (AB212)
State subsidized center based staff qualify for Professional Development training funded by the California Department of Education AB212 Grant.
The goal of the plan is to improve early care and education by:
- Building support for early childhood educators
- Provide training and support materials for staff to continue their professional growth
- Encouraging staff to continue working in the ECE field
- Establishing a strong network of early childhood professionals
- Increasing interest in entering the ECE field
