The Tehama County Department of Education is committed to supporting math instruction across our schools by providing resources, professional development, grant opportunities, and collaborative learning experiences for educators. Our goal is to enhance math instructional strategies, promote student engagement, and ensure equitable access to high-quality math learning experiences for all students in Tehama County.
Through our math initiatives, we offer:

Professional Development – Workshops, coaching, and training focused on best practices in math instruction, including the California Math Framework, Building Thinking Classrooms, and evidence-based strategies.

Collaboration & Community of Practice – Opportunities for teachers and administrators to work together, share best practices, and strengthen math instruction across the county.

Grant Opportunities – Access to funding through initiatives like the Rural Math Collaborative and state math grants, supporting stipends, instructional resources, and innovative math strategies.

Instructional Resources – Tools and materials to support student-centered math instruction, assessment strategies, and intervention supports.

Excitement Around Math – A continued focus on fostering math curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a love for learning math among students through engaging instructional approaches.

The Tehama County Department of Education is excited to offer the Math TK-8 Community of Practice, bringing together educators to collaborate, learn, and strengthen instructional practices across these critical content areas. This ongoing professional learning opportunity is designed to support teachers in engaging students, implementing research-based strategies, and aligning instruction with the latest state frameworks and standards.

What to Expect:

Collaboration & Networking – Connect with fellow educators to share best practices, discuss challenges, and explore innovative approaches to teaching Math, Science, and Computer Science.

Research-Based Instructional Strategies – Learn and implement evidence-based teaching methods that enhance student understanding, engagement, and success.

Framework & Standards Alignment – Gain deeper insight into the California State Frameworks for Math, Science, and Computer Science, ensuring instruction is aligned with best practices and state expectations.

Hands-On Learning & Application – Participate in interactive sessions with content experts, including Chico State Math Professionals, and engage in practical applications that can be implemented in your classroom.

Support & Resources – Receive access to valuable teaching tools, curriculum resources, and instructional materials to enhance classroom learning experiences.
